The Route of the Camino de Santiago I

Pilgrimage Route | 7 nights

This route will take you on a journey of discovery to some of the most representative areas on the Camino de Santiago route, ending in Santiago de Compostela. You may visit the Apostle's tomb and win the Jubilee in the World Heritage City. Become a pilgrim!
 
The route includes the following Paradores:
 
León: First and second days

León is a uniquely beautiful city linked to the Camino de Santiago and with may interesting places to see such as the Cathedral of Santa María, San Isidoro Basilica and the Hostal de San Marcos itself. Other areas and monuments worth a visit are the Palace of Los Guzmanes, the Casa de Botines, San Marcelo church, the church of Santa Ana, the Plaza Mayor, the Roman walls...
 
Monforte: Third and fourth days
 
Explore Las Clarisas Musuem, the Keep and Los Escolapios school in Monforte. Wine also plays a central role in this area with the Ribeira Sacra Denomination of Origin winemakers. Also remember the Romanesque Route in Ferreira de Pantón and a catamaran ride around the Cañones del Sil canyons.
 
Pontevedra: Fifth day
 
Pontevedra houses a stunning old town. The Plaza de Cinco Ruas, Santa María a Mayor Basilica, the Plaza do Peirao, Do Burgo Bridge, the Plaza de Pedreia are particularly interesting spots, as are El Grove, Sanxenso, La Toja and Combarro with their centenary raised granaries. Pontevedra old quarter is also highly recommended.
 
Cambados: Sixth day
 
Explore the Fefiñanes country house, San Benito church and the ruins of Santa Mariña in Cambados. Being wine country, the Albariño DO winemakers are particularly interesting for visitors. The nearby towns of El Grove, Sanxenso, La Toja and Combarro with their centenary raised granaries as well as Pontevedra old quarter come highly recommended.
 
Santiago: Seventh day
 
Santiago is a World Heritage City and offers visitors countless places of interest: the Plaza del Obradoiro with its magnificent Cathedral, the Plaza de la Universidad, the ruas or streets bustling with local colour, palaces and churches, museums such as the Cathedral Museum, the Pobo Galego Museum and the Galician Centre for Contemporary Art. A truly seductive city.

Route with bed and breakfast (full route price. VAT included):
Per person in standard double room: 462 euros.
Per child in extra bed (children up to 12): 322 euros.
Per adult in extra bed: 462 euros.
Double room for single occupancy: 900 euros
 
Route with half board (full route price. VAT included):
Per person in standard double room: 658 euros.
Per child in extra bed (children up to 12): 420 euros.
Per adult in extra bed: 658 euros.
Double room for single occupancy: 1.096 euros.
 
The route includes:
Seven nights stay in a standard double room in selected board type (bed and breakfast or half board).
 
The route does not include:
Transport is down to guest/s as are trips or tickets to monuments and places of interest (information provided is merely a guide).
 

Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions:
Starting on Sunday and finishing on Sunday.
Dates of the stay and establishments may not be changed or modified en route.
The route and rates are not valid for groups.
Credit card required for booking guarantee.
 
Validity dates:
This route is valid for routes starting between 21 February and 11 July 2010 (inclusive). Routes starting between 22 August and 12 December 2010 (inclusive). Except routes starting 28 March, 16 and 23 May 2010.
 
PLEASE NOTE: Once en route, failure to check-in at any Parador on the route without prior notice leads to automatic cancellation at that Parador as well as the others on the route.
 
Cancellations and no-shows:

Cancellations made less than 5 working days prior to the date of arrival will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night's stay on the route.

Cancellations made during the course of the route will not be entitled to any refund of the price paid.

No-shows: Failure to keep your reservation for the first night of the route will result in cancellation of the entire route, and will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the cost of the first night's stay.
